Boy it's hot outside!
But this is Vegas in June - I'm afraid it's only going to get hotter!
Pump up the air conditioning and lather on the sun-block, because as the Ice Caps continue to melt and we increase the amount of pollutants we shoot into the air - this may only be the beginning!
The more ice that continues to melt increases the amount of surface area on our planet that is covered by dark, blue water. The bright, white ice reflects many of the sun's rays keeping our planet cool and comfortable. As our planet gets covered by more water, not only will Sea Levels rise - but more heat will be trapped inside.
It's like walking across a black parking lot on a hot day - It just feels hotter!!
Below is an image of my Digital Thermometer. It reads 138 degrees. The day the picture was taken (Friday, June 8th) the High Temperature in Las Vegas was only 98* - Double Digits is rather low, actually. *(Temperature courtesy of the National Weather Service Website)
I will admit that my Thermometer is placed in an odd location where it gets direct sunlight at certain parts of the day... but seeing this image still concerns me!

It is often in Triple Digits here in Las Vegas - and we have it easy!
There are many places World Wide that report much higher temperatures than we do. Recently, Kuwait had a high of 118 degrees (Courtesy of my friend @FunnyKeithLyle) - and often Beijing has High Temperatures because of the dense amount of smog that coats their city creating their own Greenhouse Effect.
In the meantime, all we can do is stay indoors and hide from the sun.
If you're lucky, maybe a Zombie will eat your face before the sun cooks your skin off.
... Have a Good Day!!
